2012 Molly Appeal for Immunology Research

2012-13 Molly Appeal for Immunity, Inflammation & Infectious Diseases Research

The 2012 Molly Appeal will help medical researchers right here in the Maritimes unlock the mysteries of the immune system and find cures for infectious, inflammatory and immunologic diseases.

Our team of immunology researchers at Dalhousie Medical School want to know how the immune system can be revved up to protect us from bacteria, viruses and cancer, and how it can be toned down to stop inflammation, allergies and autoimmune diseases like juvenile diabetes, rheumatoid arthritis and multiple sclerosis.  By donating to the Molly Appeal, you can give them the key.

Every dollar raised through this year's Molly Appeal will be used to purchase a high speed flow cytometer, technology that enables researchers to analyze more than 20,000 cells per second.  Our researchers urgently need this equipment to shed light on the complex events that drive our immune cells to attack foreign invaders - or to turn against our own body's tissues.

Your gift to the 2012 Molly Appeal will help our researchers open the doors to further discovery in immunity, inflammation and infectious diseases.  Your gift will help us find effective new ways to treat, prevent and cure a vast array of deadly and debilitating illnesses that affect people of all ages, all around the world.
