DMRF Gillian's Hope MS Research Grant

Due Date ~ Tuesday, February 20, 2018 (4:00pm)
DMRF is asking the Dalhousie Faculty of Medicine research community to submit applications for $32,000 research grant in MS Research.  This grant can support basic scence or clinical research and can be used to fund equipment, personnel or other research expenses.

DMRF Gillian's Hope Visiting Scholar in MS Research

DMRF Conference Grants

Due Date ~ Monday, February 26, 2018
A maximum of two $5,000 grants or one $10,000 grant to support a conference taking place in the next fiscal year - for the current competition, the conference must be taking place at Dalhousie University sometime between April 1, 2018 and March 31, 2019.  

DMRF Kathryn A. Weldon Travel Awards

Due Date ~ Monday, February 26, 2018
Six awards of $2,000 for conference travel to make a presentation are available for graduate students in the Dalhousie Faculty of Medicine.

DMRF Dr. J. Donald Hatcher Research Prize

Due Date ~ Monday, March 19, 2018 (4:00pm)
For fourth-year medical students, this $2,000 prize recognizes medical research excellence in work undertaken during undergraduate medical training.

DMRF Max Forman Senior Research Prize

Due Date ~ Thursday, April 19, 2018  **NEW DUE DATE**
This prize recognizes excellence in medical research with the aim of promoting and encouraging its pursuit in the Dalhousie Medical School.  The award is open to all senior investigators (> 10 years from first academic appointment) in the Faculty of Medicine.  The prize recipient will receive a cash prize of $10,000.

DMRF Karen Mann Lectureship in Medical Education

Due Date ~ Thursday, March 29, 2018 (4:00pm)
Named in memory of Dr. Karen Mann, the purpose of the lectureship is to bring internationally respected experts in medicl education to Dalhousie University to engage with students, faculty, staff, donors, volunteers and/or members of the general public.  Up to $4,500 is available to support each visit.

DMRF DeWolfe Graduate Studentship

Dalhousie Medical Research Foundation's DeWolfe Graduate Studentship is intended to provide support to students who are pursuing a Master's Degree or a PhD in a health related field at Dalhousie University Faculty of Medicine.  Candidates are expected to have an exceptionally high potential for future research achievement and productivity.

DMRF MacDonald Graduate Studentship

Dalhousie Medical Research Foundation's MacDonald Graduate Studentship is intended to provide support to students who are pursuing a Master's Degree or a PhD in the areas of cardiovascular research and diabetes research at Dalhousie University Faculty of Medicine.  Candidates are expected to have an exceptionally high potential for future research achievement and productivity.

DMRF Malcolm MacQuarrie Graduate Studentship

Dalhousie Medical Research Foundation's DeWolfe Graduate Studentship is intended to provide support to students who are pursuing a Master's Degree or a PhD in the area of neuroscience research at Dalhousie University Faculty of Medicine.  Candidates are expected to have an exceptionally high potential for future research achievement and productivity.

DMRF FALL 2018 Molly Appeal for WAVE 1 Research Funding

Dalhousie Medical Research Foundation's Molly Appeal has been an annual Maritime-wide public fundraising campaign since 1980.  The DMRF FALL 2018 Molly Appeal will support Wave 1 Research including one or both of the two components of Wave 1 Research: Genomics in Medicine and/or Infection, Immunity, Inflammation & Vaccinology - I3V, as outlined in Dalhousie Faculty of Medicine's WAVE announcement October 2017.  CALL for APPLICATIONS is open to all members of the Dalhousie Medical School Research Community to submit a research proposal for up to a total of $250,000 maximum.

Dalhousie Medical Research Foundation / Faculty of Medicine RIM Studentships

DMRF supports RIM by providing $5,000 stipends for medical students to carry out a research project in the summer after their Med 1 or Med 2 year.
