Guaranteed long-term funding for medical research
Since Dalhousie Medical Research Foundation (DMRF) was established in 1979, the Foundation has built an endowment fund worth more $58 million. This endowment provides a stable long-term funding base for research at Dalhousie Medical School and its affiliated teaching hospitals.

$2 million a year to world-class research at Dalhousie Medical School
Each year, the Foundation provides critical support to Dalhousie’s research efforts with $2 million in grants and awards. This includes equipment grants, salary support for senior investigators and young scientists, scholarships for medical students, graduate students and postdoctoral fellows, awards for excellence, and matching funds for major projects.
